Games Republic Student Showcase 2026
We are excited to have four teams from the High Performance Graphics and Games Engineering programme competing in the 2026 Games Republic Student Showcase! Hosted at the University of Salford, this year's showcase event brought together over 200 students from 16 different universities. Our four teams stepped up to the challenge with games created in their own game engines, developed as part of the COMP5530M Group Project module running in Semester 2.
Competing (mainly!) in the Game Technology category, our teams showed of their work. Our team "Killswitch Engine/HellMist" with Pio Canas Toimil, Nansong Yue, Finley Byrne, Liam Swarbrick, Xiangyu Liu and Jaime Gine Paraiso managed to win the first prize in the category!

Winners for the Red Kite Games Award for Game Technology, 1st Prize. Next to one of the judges from RedKite are team members Liam Swarbrick, Jaime Gine Paraiso, Pio Canas Toimil and FInley Byrne.
